A new tour across the Roof of the World, through China, Nepal and Tibet, has been described as a tough trip with some long travelling days, basic accommodation, and bumpy roads. Others have called it a magical, uplifting and spiritual adventure.
The tour departs from Kunming on September 17, ending in Kathmandu 22 days later when the group of no more than 10 people will have made their way overland in anything from trains, buses, and jeeps to even thumbing a ride in or on whatever local transport is kind enough to stop for them.
Accommodation is in hotels, guesthouses and overnight trains.
Priced at $3577 a person, twin-share, the tour is detailed in the Intrepid Small Group Adventures brochure.
