Top chef's menu for success in Queenstown

The 1997 Swiss Chef of the Year, Gerhard Gerber, has been appointed head chef' at Queenstown's exclusive Matakauri Lodge.

The former sous-chef at Queenstown's Millennium Hotel has waited patiently for what he describes as his "dream job" to come up.

Seasonal game and Central Otago fruit and vegetables are the focus of his Mediterranean-influenced menus.
