Stamford Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of the publicly listed Singaporean Hai Sun Hup Group Ltd, has paid $A53 million ($68.8 million) for the Heritage Hotel in Brisbane's CBD.
The purchase of the 232-room, five-star hotel caps an aggressive buying spree by the Stamford Group, which acquired the Sheraton Sydney Airport Hotel and Sydney Airport Central Tower for $A92 million ($119.4 million) this month.
The Heritage, the group's first foray into Queensland, is recognised as Brisbane's premier five-star hotel.
Under the terms of the sale, the hotel is likely to be renamed Stamford Plaza Brisbane.
The Stamford Hotels and Resorts Group also owns or runs five prestige hotels in Sydney, one in Melbourne, two in Adelaide and one in Auckland.
