Celebrate the spookiest day of the year at one of these family friendly locations.
1 Mickey's Halloween Party
What could be better than trick-ortreating at Disneyland? This annual event is great for younger kids, as the wholesomeness of Disney stops things from getting too scary. Rides take on a Halloween theme — like Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark, and Cars Land's Haul-O-Ween — and treat stations throughout the park dole out an endless supply of candy, as well as healthy treats to please parents. Tickets are limited to prevent the park getting too crowded and the night rounds off with a spectacular fireworks display. Until October 31.
2 Stardome Spooktacular
If you're tired of being dragged around the neighbourhood for Halloween, try celebrating the evening at Auckland's Stardome instead, for a spooktacular family-friendly experience. Arrive early and your little monsters and aliens can have fun trying out spooky science experiments and games, before heading to the planetarium for a special Halloween show. Kids will leave with a goody bag filled with freaky fun — so everyone will be happy. The familyfriendly show takes place at 5pm and 6pm, or if you want to leave the kids with a babysitter, there's an Adult Spooky Show at 8pm and 9pm. Adult show tickets include two drinks—including one themed cocktail — and snacks. Stardome Auckland, October 31.
