2 Ark Children's Cultural Centre
Aimed at kids between the ages of 3 and 14, this cultural centre in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar is a great place to introduce youngsters to the joys of the arts. They'll explore everything from theatre, music and dance, to painting, sculpture and literature. The Ark works with a diverse range of Irish and international artists to enrich young imaginations. Programmes change regularly and include plays, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, concerts, readings, opera and much more.
3 Parks
When they're ready to run wild and free, Dublin has plenty of green spaces for the kids to burn off energy. St Stephen's Green has a children's playground and is also a popular location for football and Frisbee games, while Herbert Park offers tennis courts, vast green lawns, ponds and flower beds. There's lots of see in Phoenix Park — one of the world's largest city parks — with a sporting oval, a herd of 300 deer, cricket and polo grounds and a motor-racing track. You'll also find some fine 18th century houses, including the homes of the Irish president and the US ambassador.
