The new Hilton's pool room with a view

You can't get any closer to the water than by staying in Auckland's newest hotel, the Hilton Auckland.

Built at the end of Princes Wharf as part of a $200 million apartment, luxury restaurant and retail development, the Hilton has 159 deluxe rooms and eight suites and is rated five stars.

The hotel, the first Hilton to open in New Zealand, also features a glass-fronted swimming pool suspended from an overbridge.
