Let's be honest, we all want to brag a little bit when we're on holiday, and the current craze for selfies seems to fit the showing-off bill for today's social media-savvy traveller.
Bearing that in mind, here's a bucket list of the best places to snap a selfie, as compiled by Expedia's Listopedia blog.
1. The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
It might be hard to capture both yourself and the whole of the famous tower in the one shot, but the photographic souvenir will be worth the effort.

2. The top of the Rockefeller Centre in New York, USA
For 360-degree views out across the Big Apple, this is the place you want to be. Head to the 70th floor and keep a tight grip on your camera.
This much-imitated landmark (we're looking at you, Mosgiel) sits high on the side of Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills and has been a photo backdrop for those with stars in their eyes since the 1920s.
4. The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Tuscany, Italy
You'll be joining thousands of others when you pose in front of this much-photographed tower and pretend you're the only thing keeping it from falling over. But it's got to be done.
5. The Colosseum in Rome, Italy
For decades, tourists have been snapped with this famous battleground as a backdrop, but the opening of the lower levels of the amphitheatre a few years ago mean you can now take a selfie in the bowels of the structure, where the real action used to take place. If those walls could talk...
6. Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England
Unless you're taking part in a special access tour, the days of getting right up close to these ancient stones is past, but being kept further back means you'll get more of the stone circle in your shot. Just make sure your head doesn't obscure too much of the image.
7. Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia
Get up early and tag along with a professional photographer if you want to capture the best side of this iconic coastal spot. Or keep your eyes peeled for the lifeguard stars of reality TV show Bondi Rescue. Sun, surf, sand and a selfie. Bonza mate.
Leaning out over the edge of these thundering waterfalls to get your face in the photo might not immediately appeal, but if you can manage it without taking a tumble or dousing your camera, the results will be Facebook gold.
9. Makati City in Manila, the Philippines
If you really want to go with the crowd, head to Makati City. According to TIME magazine, it's the (per capita) selfie-taking capital of the world. More selfies were taken in this tropical locale than in any of the 459 other cities measured by the magazine.
10. Madame Tussauds - various locations worldwide
In all likelihood, you're probably never going to meet your favourite celebrity. I'm sorry, but there it is. Luckily, you can pretend by posing with as many faux famous people as you like at one of the 14 Madame Tussauds wax museums around the globe. Hopefully you won't get quite so tongue-tied chatting to a statue either.
