A complex of of ornate halls and wooden temples, all built without nails and developed over the past decade, has opened in Hong Kong.
Ancient Chinese architectural skills and modern technology were used to expand the original Chi Lin temple and monastic complex in Diamond Hill, which now covers a staggering 33,000 sq m. With lotus ponds at its main entrance, and Zen-style gardens linking the temples and ceremonial halls, the redevelopment cost more than $195 million.
Open for worship or sightseeing, admission is free.
