Oysters and mussels, ostrich and venison, chutneys, spices and fabulous desserts are set to make mouths water at the one-day Coromandel Flavours Festival.
Held at Jack's Point Reserve in Coromandel town on Saturday, February 8, this is the fourth annual flavours event.
It begins at 11am and includes live musical entertainment, demonstrations and competitions such as oyster-opening and oyster eating, local crafts with artists in action, a health and healing centre, and fun rides for children. Entry is free.
Get to the town on a one-hour drive north of Thames along State Highway 2, or catch the Kawau Kat from the downtown Auckland Ferry terminal at 9am (returns 3.30pm, bookings essential).
