Taste of the Rockies

If you cannot afford to spend a whole week in Canada's Rocky Mountains but still want a taste of its lofty heights, a three-day trip is available.

From mid-May to mid-October, the True North Tours passenger van will take up to 14 people from Calgary and Banff every Tuesday and Saturday on the new Explorer tour. The cost is $CN115 ($181), including park entrance fees, transport and guide.

Accommodation is in hostels, with payment on arrival ranging from $13 to $27.50 a night.
