Taste of Gisborne

If you love savouring wine and food, Gisborne is the place to be on Labour Weekend's Sunday, October 27.

The McCullochs Gisborne Wine and Food Festival showcases the region's best produce, with nine venues and more than 20 local wineries providing wine, food and entertainment.

One vineyard plans to turn its grassy helipad into a festival venue where guests can sample local beers, wines, ciders and food while enjoying spectacular views across the bay to Young Nicks Head.

Buses will run regularly between venues and a full-day pass costs $12. Organisers recommend people secure their tickets early as half have already sold.
