New Zealand's harbourside cities all like to celebrate winter with a chilly group dip in the sea, but Wellingtonians don't have to stray too far from the comfort of hot showers and the shelter of changing rooms.
Freyberg Beach at Oriental Bay is the venue for the city's mid-winter swim this Sunday morning.
Brave swimmers will be entertained by the Young New Zealanders and a group of cheerleaders.
Aucklanders can join in the festivities and take the plunge at Mission Bay from 11am on Saturday, June 29.
