Summer festivals in the Coromandel

Summer is when festivals and beach carnivals are held around the country. If you're in the Coromandel, try the Keltic Fair on January 2 in Coromandel Town, at the Coromandel Area School grounds, 11am-3pm.

On the other side of the peninsula Whangamata holds its Summer Festival and "Whanga Week" from December 27 to January 3.

This includes fun runs and walks, a harbour swim, surf boat action and the Miss Whangamata contest.
