Waimate's annual Strawberry Fare celebrates the berry fruit industry, which was established in the district in the early 1880s.
The fare begins at 11am on Saturday, at Seddon Square in Waimate, and Santa, Mrs Claus and elves will arrive later in the morning.
More than 200 stalls will sell products ranging from arts and crafts to clothing, jewellery and plants.
Strawberry growers will sell their fruit by punnet and with icecream.
Entertainment will include competitions based on the strawberry theme.
