Probably one of New Zealand's best-known children's authors is the inspiration for a zany production on stage in Wellington next month.
Mahy Madness is a one-hour play that looks at writing a story and is set inside Mahy's head. It's about a bored lion and imaginary characters that teach him how not to be bored.
The production was written by resident writer at Capital E's National Theatre for Children, Jo Randerson. It is open to the public from December 15 to 24 and January 8 to 27.
