So you have about four hours in Bogota. You'll want to get out of the airport because, while there's free WiFi, there's not much else to see or do there. Get into town, smell the coffee and take a walking tour. Bogota features beautiful colonial buildings and cool cafes and galleries. This list doesn't take into account resting time to sip a beer or coffee, so skip one of these to add the pleasure of sitting at a cafe or bar and people-watching. If you're returning to the airport, be mindful if you are leaving the city centre between 4pm-5pm as it could take an hour rather than the usual 30 minutes.
Cafe: First, fuel up with some good Colombian coffee. Try Gaira Cafe Cumbia House. There's music, art and a bar, if you feel like something stronger than an espresso.
Culture: Museo del Oro - there are more than 30,000 artefacts, so allow more than an hour. It's free on Sundays or 3000 pesos every other day. Here, you see gold jewellery, carvings and sculpture from the pre-colonised era.
Urban art: Take a Bogota graffiti tour. Street art is a defining aspect of the city and its culture. Tours take around two hours, so sacrifice two of the other site-seeing spots on the list if you choose this option.
