Stone the crows

Weird and wonderful scarecrow creations will pepper the paddocks around the Wairarapa town of Gladstone during its Scarecrow Festival, October 22 to November 6.

The Scarecrow Trail will feature around 200 scarecrows and there's even a whole village of scarecrows behind the Gladstone Inn.

Associated events include the Scarecrow Fair on Saturday, November 5, and on the same date there's the Scarecrow Scamper, which includes a half-marathon, plus 10km and 5km fun runs and walks.
