Last week, Vogue.com reported that travel to the Middle East is growing. It referenced Intrepid Travel, which, perhaps unexpectedly in the current political climate, has seen "a 70 per cent growth in US bookings to Egypt, Israel and Jordan".
Intrepid's CEO James Thornton told Vogue: "Our travellers are making an important statement ... They do not want to be told where to go and what to do."
I've travelled to the Middle East twice in the past year and both times I was pleasantly surprised.
A friend is in Jordan and her Instagram feed is wanderlust-worthy. I've also got Oman, Iran and Lebanon on my wish list. There's nothing like travel to broaden your horizons.
