The Hotel: The Terraces is connected to Mangoes Resort, a 30-second walk away. At reception, you can organise transfers, book activities and transport, and ask the lovely staff just about anything you can think of.
The Bed: A massive Super King, complete with soft white sheets and a view.
The Bathroom: Our master en suite bathroom was large and luxurious, with a walk-in rain shower, huge vanity and stone soaking tub. The louvre windows meant you could soak while looking over to the tennis courts (beware, those on the court can see you too).
Lovely organic bathroom products were by Kudos Spa.
Food and Drink: A tropical breakfast is included in the room rate here. You can choose to either have this at Mangoes Restaurant or have it delivered to your room (both options are a la carte). Room service from Mangoes Restaurant is also available to guests. There is no shortage of fantastic eating options if you wish to go further afield either. Try chef Clement's famous Flying Fox (slowcooked fruit bat) at French restaurant L'Houstalet, or pre-order the incredible seafood platter for two at Breakas Resort's beachfront restaurant.
Facilities: As well as private plunge pools, there is a tennis court, gym, breathtaking main infinity pool (with poolside service), and use of the facilities at Mangoes Resort is also included in your stay. I was particularly grateful of the "fogging" that takes place around the resort and apartment areas for mosquito control, as mozzies find me utterly irresistible.
Activities: There is a veritable feast of activities to choose from at Port Vila and beyond, so it pays to plan ahead. For the more adventurous, Vanuatu Jungle Ziplining is a must.
Zoom through the jungle canopy over canyons and suspension bridges, and be sure to pack a camera to capture it all. There are also day trips, including snorkelling at Hideaway Island's marine reserve, the stunning inland blue lagoon and the Mele cascades.
Views: I would hazard a guess these apartments have one of the best aspects on the island. Watch people paddleboard along Erakor lagoon and admire the lush trees and gardens around you as you sip a glass of Champagne on your private terrace. Bliss.
Wi-Fi: Free and fast.
Price: A terrace studio starts from $350 per night, a one-bedroom apartment from $460, and a two-bedroom apartment starts at $580 per night.
What's so good about this place: These apartments are modern luxury; fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home, and even better, they offer the space needed for larger groups or extended stays.
Would I return: Si plis! (Sadly, this is the extent of my knowledge of Bislama, or Pidgin English).
