Eli Orzessek checks in to the Marktgasse Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland.
Getting there: I arrived by train at the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. From there, it was a short tram ride and a short walk through the old town to get to the hotel.
Check-in experience: Friendly and easy. The lobby has a small kitchen where you can make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and there is complimentary fruit. The decor is stylish and modernist, whereas the building itself dates back to the 15th century.
Room: I stayed in a "Generous" room — again, very stylish and modernist in its design. I found it pleasant to spend time there after a day on my feet.
What's so good about this place? The aesthetics are clean and perfect, it's right in the middle of the old town and the staff are really lovely.
