Location: At the northern end of swanky Hastings St, among the high-end boutiques, bars and restaurants, and with the beach just steps away from the back door.
Check in experience: Stepping into the cool and peaceful interior of Maison's reception area, the first thing I notice is the smell. A good one, mind - coming from some kind of fragrant diffuser that adds to the sense of calm. Manager Simone is on hand to welcome me, and gives me a Wi-Fi code and a rundown of the resort's facilities. There's a private entrance to the building, so you only really need to go through reception on check-in and check-out, but it's staffed throughout the day.
Room: A one-bedroom deluxe apartment, with an ocean view. The decor is fresh and Cape Cod-esque - lots of blue-and-white stripes, with white shuttered doors on the bedroom and out to the private balcony, which is large enough for a four-seater dining table and one sun lounger. There's a full kitchen and dining table for guests who'd prefer to self-cater, and comfortable couch and armchairs in the lounge. The floor is tiled throughout, helping to keep the apartment cool, along with ceiling fans in each room. It does overlook the pool though, so can be a little noisy during the day with the shrieks of children jumping between the hot tub and the cooler plunge pool. At night, the only sound is the nearby waves from Noosa Main Beach.
Bed: King-size, with crisp linen, a firm mattress and feathery pillows.
