And the bad? It feels like a lifetime waiting for the lifts to make their way up and down.
What's in the neighbourhood? A variety of popular landmarks including Star Avenue, the Clock Tower, Canton Road, Cultural Museum, cross-harbour ferry and big yellow floating duck. An assortment of shops and traditional and Western cafes.
Food and drink: I was too busy hitting Hong Kong's central cuisine spots, but there are two restaurants on site. On the third floor a contemporary Chinese restaurant serves traditional dim sum with a modern twist; the hotel offers Urban Park on level four, a modern European restaurant with an open air terrace that lights up at night with sparkling lights and overlooks busy Granville Rd.
The bed: The beds are large and spacious but have a notably hard Simmons mattress.
Luckily I was too tired to mind after my missions around the city, and slept unscathed.
A room with a view? Not a view you'd pick for relaxing holiday scenery, with skyscrapers at every angle and concrete streets, but the uplifting and innovative interior decor is definitely its own visionary masterpiece.
Bathroom: With quirky additions such as vibrant purple toothbrush holders and soap trays, accompanied by classic black-and-white finishings, the bathroom's artsy wall tiles are the standout component, unique and set with pastel yellows, greens, reds and blues.
The best part though? The labels on the toilet that say "flush the beer down" and "flush your ex down".
Free Wi-Fi? Guests have free Wi-Fi, but just keep in mind you'll need to re-enter the password each time you return. The hotel also offers a complimentary handy smartphone for guests, with unlimited local calls and unlimited 3G internet access with mobile data.
Noise: My room was peaceful and quiet apart from a random morning fire alarm that blared for a good 10 minutes. I escaped my room half-presentable and was told by friendly cleaning staff it was a false alarm.
Room service: Never have I felt so organised as when turning up to a spotless room rid of half used soaps and with my shoes lined up in perfect orderliness. Even my stacks of paper and folders were arranged neatly on a wiped down bedside table, and the shower released oaty vanilla tones each morning.
Exercise facilities: None, but Victoria Harbour is a short walk away and offers awakening early morning sights while Hong Kong's late-night shoppers sleep in until the shops open at around 10am.
Value for money: Yes, I'd happily go back.
