The showplace of British gardening, the Chelsea Flower Show, has a new look this year. Gone is the old central canvas marquee, and instead there will be two new huge, state-of-the-art pavilions.
The show, from May 23 to 26, is held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea and there is no room for expansion. But the organiser, the Royal Horticultural Society, wanted to create more space so that the thousands of visitors could move around more comfortably.
The new pavilions will be higher, more airy and spacious. Exhibitors will be able to expand their displays upwards, which was not possible before.
