If you're bored with staying in the same old generic hotel rooms, why not opt for something a little more out there?
Recent research from Booking.com has found that more than one and three travellers (37 per cent) planned to stay in a more unique location, like a castle or a treehouse.
Travellers are also increasingly seeking "experiences", while on holiday (59 per cent).
In response to this research, the travel booking site has launched a new "Book the US List", which features the quirkiest properties across the United States – stays that go far beyond the traditional hotel experience.
Booking.com has also created three one-of-a-kind experience stays at world famous, iconic properties, only available to book on March 8.
These include a one-of-a-kind overnight experience in New York's Empire State Building, complete with dinner on the 86th floor open-air observation deck and sunrise yoga overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
