An interactive nature experience is in store at Bencarri Farm, at Takaka. Visitors can feed and pet a selection of friendly, farm animals and exotic animals such yaks and llamas.
Those who dare can touch and feed the Anatoki eels in their natural environment, some of which are more than 100 years old.
The licensed cafe provides food and beverages, and the farm also has a gallery, mini-golf and horse rides, and alpaca/llama yarn and knitwear on sale. Open daily 10am till 5pm during the school holidays. Admission: $10 adults, $5 school-age children. McCallums Rd, Takaka.
