If you thought Auckland's Maritime Museum was just a static display of "things-boating", slip on your boating shoes and get down to the Viaduct Basin.
A traditional sailing scow, the Ted Ashby, cruises the harbour from the museum at noon and again at 2pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The hour-long cruise costs $15 for an adult, $7 for children and under-5s sail free. A family pass for up to five people costs $35.
Take the cruise on the first Sunday of any month, and you'll catch some rollicking good sea songs and shanties performed pier-side of the museum by the Maritime Crew. The hour-long performance is free and begins at 1.30pm.
