Skifields ready to open

The country's two largest skifields, Mt Ruapehu's Turoa and Whakapapa, will open within a week of one another next month.

The full ski area at Turoa will open on June 20, followed by the Whakapapa ski field on June 27.

The beginners' slopes at Happy Valley will open on May 31.
