WHAKAPAPA
A snowfall of 15cm last Friday has left the field with a healthy base of 120cm packed powder. All upper mountain T-bars and Happy Valley lifts operating. A predicted storm cycle today and tomorrow is expected to bring snow to low levels. Brass Magazine Corporate Ski and Board Challenge on Saturday.
TUROA
Variable conditions off-trail. Turoa has a firm-packed base of 135cm on the upper field, after 10cm fell last weekend. Most lifts operational. Staff hoping for a fine weekend.
MT HUTT
Firm, wind-packed average base of 45cm snow on the field. Variable conditions off-piste. All lifts operating. Possibility of more snow over weekend. Friday-Sunday Canterbury Regional Snowboard Champs.
CARDRONA
Dry, packed powder on main trails. New snow off-piste. Present average snow base ranges between 50cm-120cm. All lifts and facilities operating. New Zealand freeskiing in Arcadia chutes on Sunday. More snow possible today and tomorrow, probably clearing over the weekend.
TREBLE CONE
Dry, packed powder over whole mountain. Average base ranges from 50cm on the lower mountain to up to 1.5m in Saddle Basin. All facilities operating, 100 per cent terrain skiable. More snow expected at week's end. Last Saturday saw a record number of 2400 flock to the field. Volkl/Kathmandu Summit 500 and Dash for Cash on Saturday.
CORONET PEAK
Firm-packed winter snow with pockets of powder off-piste. Average base of 70-80cm on the upper mountain, and 40-60cm on the lower mountain. All facilities operating. Cold front bringing snow expected. Japanese Ski Association FIS races this weekend.
REMARKABLES
Dry, groomed snow on trail with new snow off-piste. Base of 110cm on upper mountain and 75cm on lower mountain. All lifts operating. More snow expected, weather turning to south-east. Skier X this weekend.
