Whakapapa
No snow since last week, leaving the field with a 65cm+ base. On trail snow is packed powder, off trail it tends to be icy. Two of 12 lifts on main mountain operational, all on beginners' slope working. Weather is expected to be mainly fine, possibly with some cool south easterly winds. Open day Saturday from 10am-2pm to promote new regular programme for 6-14 year olds.
Turoa
Snowfall on Tuesday night, leaving it with a 70cm base. Good skiing but a little limited. Some lifts operating. The weather has been cold, clear and fine and similar weather is hoped for this weekend. Barbeque celebrations every weekend.
Mt Hutt
The field got 5cm new snow on Monday night, leaving it with 40cm on main trails. All beginners' terrain is skiiable, with over half intermediate runs open. Eight of nine lifts are operating. Weather expected to remain clear and cold for the weekend. School holiday programmes underway.
Cardrona
All lifts and facilities operating. Snow conditions hard packed over the whole mountain. Off piste snow conditions vary. Snow base is between 30cm on lower slopes and 90cm on upper mountain. Weather expected to remain fine and calm. New Super Rookie run to open this weekend.
Treble Cone
Extensive snowmaking has ensured the field has a generous covering with 120cm on upper slopes and 60cm on the main trails. All lifts operational. Terrain pipe under constrution, half pipe closed. Weather expected to remain clear, calm, and sunny. Kids lunchtime programmes operating for school holidays.
Coronet Peak
Soft snow on trails, depth varies from 20-50cm. Conditions on and off trails also variable. All but one lift operating. Clear, calm and cold conditions expected to continue over weekend. Halfpipe competition Sunday.
Remarkables
Snow depth ranges from 60cm on lower slopes to 80-100cm on upper terrain. Snow is firm off piste. All lifts open. Calm conditions and clear skies predicted for the next three days. Terrain park open.
