Singapore's shopping mecca gets a makeover

Singapore's renowned shopping street, Orchard Rd, is to be given an ambitious makeover to make it a more exciting lifestyle boulevard.

The Singapore Tourism Board and the Urban Redevelopment Authority plan to raise Orchard Rd to the ranks of New York's Fifth Ave or London's Regent St. The overall plan will inject more colour and into the area.
