Shetland Islands story time

The Shetland Islands, off the north coast of Scotland, is the place to hear a yarn or two spun well.

The inaugural Auld Rock Legends Storytelling Festival on the United Kingdom's northern-most outpost, is being held from September 27 to 30.

It's a long weekend of storytelling, drama, dance and local music, with all the character of the entwined Scottish and Viking heritage.

There will be stories from much farther afield too, with a story teller coming from the United States, one from Ireland, and more from the islands of Orkney and Skye.
