Tours of the site where the village scenes in The Last Samurai were filmed are available at Uruti Valley, 40 minutes north of New Plymouth.
Most of the "Samurai Village" site has been returned to its natural state, but some structures remain, and photographic displays and props show what the village was like.
The tour begins with a drive through a sheep and beef farm.
The tour guide explains how the set was built, and gives anecdotes about the 10 months that Warner Bros were on location.
