Dunedin will drag science out of the labs and into the minds of the man (and woman) on the street when the city hosts the New Zealand International Science Festival.
Opening on June 29, with venues throughout Dunedin until July 7, the annual science event offers more than 300 drawcards to entertain, educate and excite - including interactive displays and demonstrations.
In keeping with the theme, "The Earth and Beyond", Nasa astronaut Dr John Grunsfeld, who has just returned from his latest trip in space to service the Hubble Telescope, will be a guest of the festival.
