Saxophonist Kenny G treats Delta passengers to an impromptu performance during a flight from Florida to LA

Saxophonist Kenny G treated his fellow passengers to an impromptu jazz medley on a California-bound flight.

The unusual in-flight entertainment was offered to passengers on a Saturday flight from Tampa, Florida to Los Angeles, Yahoo reported.

The musician, whose records have sold more than 75million copies worldwide, proved to be a valuable fundraising tactic for cancer research.

Flight attendants announced that if the cabin donated $1,000 to Delta's 'Relay for Life' campaign, then Mr G would perform.

Within five minutes, more than $2,000 was raised.

Videos uploaded to social media show the saxophonist walking down the plane's aisle and making his immense skill look effortless.

He greets passengers with a smile on his face as they look on in amazement.

Last week, the performer joined Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, Carly Simon and Earth Wind and Fire to sing for music producer Clive Davis.

The assembled artists performed for Davis, 85, on the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival last Wednesday.

"Mr. Davis, for so many years it's been a real pleasure. I am honored to have been an artist of his and to still be an artist of his," Franklin said from the stage at Radio City Music Hall.
