STA Travel is looking for New Zealanders who want to make the world a better place. The STA Travel Trust was established just over a year ago to fund groups and individuals who want to be involved in worthy causes while they travel.

So far, the trust has given most of its funds to projects sourced from Australia, including students travelling to Nepal to install solar panelling and Australian doctors working in Burmese refugee camps.

"We're sure there are hundreds of New Zealanders with similar worthy ideas," says STA Travel managing director Sue Smith. "We want to provide assistance to groups seeking to create a better society through travel."

The next round of applications closes on February 1 next year.
