Safer British hotels

In response to the needs of women travelling alone, Britain's hotel reservation agency Expotel is awarding Women Aware status to a growing number of British hotels.

Hotels must fulfil a list of 10 criteria to be awarded a certificate - but only after they have been nominated for the award by three women guests. The criteria list includes security locks for rooms, brightly lit corridors and room service.
