The British Government is opening up the Working Holidaymaker Scheme for New Zealanders in Britain. Changes, which start on August 25, include removing all existing work restrictions; allowing working holidaymakers to switch to work permit employment after one year - provided they qualify for a work permit - and raising the age to 30.
The changes mean New Zealanders can work in their chosen profession, furthering their career while in Britain.
Currently New Zealanders on a working holiday visa can only work for half the two-year term in jobs outside of their trained profession and visas must be obtained before applicants are aged 28.
