Check-in experience: Friendly, of course - we are in Fiji after all. Staff took our details and then accompanied us to our rooms, refusing to let us carry our own bags.
Room: There are several options at Uprising; the villa we stayed in was spacious and private but a little dark. The flip-around TV/mirror was a bit of a novelty.
Price: It costs $281 for a night in a Commodore Garden View Villa. For backpackers, dorm beds can also be rented for just a fraction of that price.
What's in the neighbourhood? Uprising is a great base for travellers to Fiji who are after some adventure on their holiday. The Pacific Harbour resort is close to river rafting, surfing spots and ziplining, and down the road daily fishing expeditions leave from a neighbouring resort.
