Passengers leaving their car at London's Gatwick airport will soon be able to have it parked and retrieved by a robotic valet.
The wheeled tow robots will be able to park cars more quickly and more closely together than a human driver – and it is estimated the service will free up a third more space for extra cars.
Operated by app, passengers arriving from August will be able to take part in the trial.
Stanley Robotics who designed and built the robotic fork lift have named their creation Stan.
Using GPS Stan will be filling Gatwick's car parking spaces over a three-month trial.
This will take place at the airport's South Terminal long-stay carpark – which may gain over 100 extra spaces using Stan space saving robot.
