New Zealand's highest peak and a cruise on the steamship TSS Earnslaw are just two of the highlights on a 10-day, fully escorted coach and rail tour in the South Island.
The last four departures this year are from Christchurch on November 10, 12, 17 and 24. Travelling through the Southern Alps to Mt Cook, the tour heads for Dunedin, Te Anau and the Fiordland National Park for a day-long Milford Sound excursion. Arrowtown, Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, the Haast Pass and the icy delights of Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers are also on the itinerary before travellers board the TranzAlpine Train back to Christchurch.
Included in the price of $2124 a person, twin share, are nine nights' accommodation, luxury coach and rail travel, most meals and a picnic lunch during the Milford Sound cruise.
