Reach for your paddle

A semi-submerged shipwreck, a mansion, a surf beach and more than eight islands are all within reach of you and your kayak on a day out with Amanzi Kayaks.

The sea-kayaking specialists can be found at Algies Bay, near Warkworth, 75km north of Auckland. Experienced kayakers can go it alone in single and double rented kayaks ($40 a person) or Amanzi (Zulu for water) staff will take less-confident adventurers on guided tours ($65 a person) for one day or even three days. A one-day tour takes about six hours, of which four hours is spent on the water, rowing.
