Rainbow Farm in Rotorua is humming. The complex has recently installed the World of Bees, a glass see-through hive wall in the retail shopping area where visitors get a close up view of more than 35,000 honey bees at work.
People generally know very little about bees and are fascinated and eager to learn about them, says Jason Renall, Rainbow Farm retail manager.
Rainbow's World of Bees is based on a tourism attraction on the Gold Coast of Australia. A selection of bee products, from royal jelly to propolis, pollen and honey, is on sale.
