Railroad to the North Island snow

The Railway Enthusiasts Society is running the Snowball Express from Auckland to National Park and Ohakune on Saturday, August 26.

The society has booked the Silver Fern railcar to leave Auckland at 6.30 am.

The train will leave Ohakune at 4 pm for the return journey arriving in Auckland at 10 pm.

The fare is $100 but options include lunch at the Chateau, a bus to Turoa skifield or visiting the Army museum at Waiouru.
