Cunard Line has signed a contract to build the world's grandest and largest passenger vessel, the Queen Mary 2.
The 150,000-tonne liner, expected to enter service in late 2003, will cost about $2 billion.
It will carry 2620 passengers, cruise at 30 knots (55km/h) and be the longest and widest passenger ship in the world.
