The world's only geothermal prawn farm can be found just 10 minutes north of Taupo.
At Prawn Park, you can take the family to hand-feed juvenile prawns, try catching your own for the onsite chef to prepare for your lunch, savour numerous prawn dishes from the menu and meet Grumpy, the longest prawn in captivity.
Guided tours depart at 11am and 4pm. A family pass (two adults and up to four children under 13) is $13; one adult ticket is $6; children, $1.50 and senior citizens, $5.
The park's restaurant is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm and offers a special children's menu.
