Anaheim is another US city succumbing to the craft beer craze, with more than a dozen breweries expected to be up and running in the Orange County city by the end of the year. Here are some of the best . . .
ANAHEIM BREWERY
336 Sth Anaheim Blvd
anaheimbrew.com
Anaheim Brewery is enjoying a modern lease of life following its reopening in 2010, 90 years after it closed its taps when Prohibition kicked in. It has four flagship beers, one of which, Anaheim 1888, is made using the brewery's original techniques. Can't get much more authentic than that. On site are a tasting room and a beer garden, and Tuesdays are taco nights.

Not only does this brewery produce 340 litres of beer per week, its frequently changing tap menu also features ciders and meads. Each week three or four home brewers are invited to come in and brew under the guidance of its experts to produce 45 litres of grog each week. When ready, the beers are placed on tap and compete against each other in Home Brewer Hop Wars. You can also enjoy American comfort food and pick up any home brewing supplies you might need.
