Natural Masterpieces is how the Auckland Regional Council describes its parks.
All the parks, totalling more than 37,000ha, are listed with detail for visitors in the council's parks brochure.
Codes indicate whether each park is suitable for activities such as picnics, horse-riding, tramping and swimming and whether there is disability access, a cafe, if dogs are allowed and where to find protected marine reserves.
Parks listed include the Hunua Ranges, the Botanic Gardens, the beaches and parks on the West Coast and north of Auckland.
