A photo challenge calling for holiday snapshots taken by Kiwis has revealed what they enjoy doing while travelling in Australia.
The Australian Tourist Commission is challenging New Zealanders to send in photos of unique holiday experiences they have had across the Tasman, with the chance to win a digital camera and a 10-day holiday for two.
From four-wheel-driving along the sand dunes of a Newcastle beach to exploring underground crystal caves in the Atherton Tablelands, competition organisers say that if photos are anything to go by, Kiwis appear to be quite adventurous when holidaying in Australia.
"We've already received many fantastic entries from across the country. However we'd love to see even more," says ATC Marketing Director for New
Zealand, Kate Strange.
In June a panel of judges will select eight regional winners from across the country, who will each win a Sony digital camera.
The regional winners will then compete for a 10-day holiday for two anywhere of their choice in Australia, starting and finishing at one of the main cities.
Any New Zealander who has been to Australia and has the photos to prove it, or is travelling there before May 31, 2003, is eligible to enter.
Photos can be black and white or colour, any size, but must be on photographic paper and should reflect a unique aspect of the entrant's Australian holiday that would motivate others to go there.
Entrants simply send their photo to Discover Australia Competition, PO Box 37-116, Parnell, Auckland, before May 31, 2003, along with a completed entry form available from travel agencies and Regency Duty Free stores.
Alternatively, the entry form can be downloaded from www.australia.com.
