New Zealand cats and dogs that meet certain conditions no longer need to spend six months in quarantine when they arrive in Britain.
The requirements are that a pet must be from one of 28 rabies-free countries (which includes New Zealand), have a microchip implanted, have a blood test and be vaccinated against rabies.
The pet must also be treated for ticks and tapeworms.
Treatment must begin seven months before leaving.
