If you're looking for a place to relax over lunch in the weekend, visit Wrights Watergardens at 128 Mauku Rd, Patumahoe, 2.4ha of watergardens within a rock quarry surrounding the historical Mauku Waterfall.
There's a craft shop, a nursery and the licensed Waterfall Cafe, which has a spacious dining area, large verandah and a lawn overlooking the falls. Winter cafe hours are daily 11am to 3pm; shop and gardens daily 10am to 4.30pm.
